Hello Everyone,
Since the release of the demo of our song America we've been receiving many messages and comments about the song. We would like to thank those of you who listened to the song and especially to those who shared the music with others. The release caused us to climb over 2,000 positions on the Reverbnation Charts nationally and to # 26 in our local area. We're sure to go even higher over the next few days. Please keep listening to, and sharing the music. We'd like to get the song properly produced, engineered and recorded one day and released across the united states. We would welcome any help from sponsors or those of you who would like to contribute to helping us reach our goal. We believe that all this song needs is exposure to succeed.

We did it! America is finally done, in demo form, and is now on our page with the video that Deidra created to go with it. This was labor of love for me, and there were times when I thought it would never be completed. I had to learn how to become an engineer and not only produce the song, but perform all the parts and engineer the mix. I enjoyed it very much, but I know that I have a lot more to learn. We hope you enjoy the song and for those of you in the US, thank you for being the inspiration for it. On to the next song and the next album!

We've had some bumps in the road that have delayed the release of America. For those who are following my music I apologize. Some health issues and then a Navy reunion got in the way. Happy to say that I am back to the music and anxious to get this song completed. We received some great news recently, and have a lot to be positive about. Hoping that all of you are well, and enjoying life!

The news just keeps getting better. After two years, several attacks by industry creeps and con artists.... and a barrel full of bad luck.... we did it!!!!! The debut CD has been officially released. My Heart is a Song and the album concept by Deidra has been born. We hope that many of you will pick up the CD. It contains 9 full songs. Which are;
1. I Love Her Anyway 2. My Heart Is A Song 3. Stand Aside 4. Easy to Leave
5. Cut Loose 6. The Best Friend I Ever Had 7. You May Never Get The Chance Again 8. You Turned My World Around 9. The Range In My MindSome of these songs I began writing as early as the age of 15, so this is a huge milestone in my life and a great relief to be able to release the first CD. It could not have been done without the help and support of the most generous people. Thank you very much to all of you!!

Yes it's true! Brought on by the encouragement of Maree and Debbie, and the re-acquaintance of a really good friend, we are headed to Melbourne, Australia.
This trip will take place between February 15th and March 15, 2011 and may include a trip to Sydney via Canberra. Many of you may not know that it was back in 2004 in Queensland Australia that the very first DJ in the world played my song. That DJ was Aleta Tulk and the station was 88.7 KIK FM. Funny how life comes full circle.
We are going to do our best to get up to the north of the country to visit Aleta on our trip. We are looking forward to meeting and visiting with our Australian friends and fans as well. If you're over in the areas mentioned please let us know!
Also planned is another trip to the United States. This time to several cities in the east and southeast. Confirmed stops are in Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Louisiana. Sometimes if you wish hard enough...things happen. Making this all possible is an old friend who shares the idea of travelling and playing songs as a wonderful adventure. If you want us to stop and visit give me a shout!

Hey all! We're still plugging away at the songs here. The latest change, for those who give a hoot, has been to create a studio at home. We did it with the help of our supporters (special thanks to Barb and Karen!! xo).
Our thinking? If we can't get into the studio because they cost too much, then we'll do it ourselves. So, I am now putting on all the hats for this next song... America.
Now, for those Canadian's who think I'm some kind of traitor lol. I am VERY Canadian. I'm not really a flag waving kind of guy. Those that know me, know why.
It's about fences and borders and pitting people against each other, but that's a whole other subject. Artists like me have a difficult time with labels having to be on everything. Okay, okay... I'm back on focus now :)
America is MY tribute to all things American that I love. Here in British Columbia Canada we grew up with a split of American and Canadian Cultures. TV was absolutely dominated by the US. All the best shows were made in the USA, and who could compete with the awesome power of Walt Disney and Disneyland. No life was considered complete for a British Columbian until they had made the trip to Anaheim California and Disneyland. I firmly believe that old Walt had a lot to do with who I am today. You could say that I was a Disney kid.
Add Universal Studios, Graceland, The Grand Canyon, The Blue Ridge Mountains, the amazing history and the list goes on and on. Yes..... I love America.... the country and most of all... it's people. So I wrote a song about it. Right now I have completed the drum and bass tracks, as well as some of the strings and piano. I'm still a noob, so it's going to take some time, but we wanted you to know that America IS on it's way.
Thanks again, to those who have been supporting and are in this journey with us. Things are quiet right now, but not for long. This song.... America... it is without a doubt the best and most relevant piece of work to date. I've never felt stronger about the potential for a song to change a life. This IS that kind of song. We hope you enjoy it and take it for what it's worth.
All our best to you reading this. YOU are why I keep writing and recording and why Deidra puts up with my stuff lol.
See you on Myspace!

I Love Her Anyway continues to be the most successful song for us. Garage Band has thrown 3 more awards it's way. Best Mood in Country, Best Male Vocal & Best Guitar for the week of March 15, 2010. That brings the total awards to 7 now.
I believe my writing and arranging are improving all the time. I Love Her Anyway was my last piece of work. I wrote it and produced it in the studio as well. Tim Porter gets mucho kudos for his amazing guitar work.
Which brings up a point. America...in my opinion...it is the best song I've ever
written. We are still working on finding ways to get it recorded. I am very anxious to get it done. I believe it is going to change things for us. We'll keep you posted on the progress.
In the meantime, we wish you all well. Take care and enjoy the music!

Wow, it's March already. I am always amazed at how fast time goes by. Deidra and I are really happy that we were a part of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. I will be getting to captions for the pics soon, so that you know where we're at and what we're doing in the pics. I'll be trying to get that done over the next couple of weeks.
Those of you who are true fans of my music, please know that I am trying my best now to get back to recording. The songs have to keep coming and as soon as possible we will have new material to introduce.
We also have hope that Shenia Moyer at In The Spotlight Entertainment will have some luck with the bookings this year. If you know of a place that would like to have me perform live in, then please use Shenia's contact info on our page to let her know.
We'll be around a little more often now that the games are over. I hope to get back to staying in touch with all of those that I am used to being in touch with.
Best wishes to all of you, and we'll talk to you soon!!!

Hey Everyone,
What a great start it's been in 2010. By now most of you have seen our 2010 Olympic Winter Games photos. Deidra and I are thoroughly enjoying our involvement with this world-class event. We've already had so many highlights, including having my daughter Katana join us at Cypress Mountain to witness a gold medal win.
It is our hope that those of you who are interested will enjoy a little of our journey with us by looking at our photos. We're headed to Whistler Creekside today for three days to enjoy some alpine skiing, so we'll have more of them soon :)
The games will soon be over and we will be back to focusing on recording new songs. Thanks so much to those of you who have been checking in on us. The ones who still send comments and messages and comment on our photos. You know who you are, and Deidra and I appreciate you very much.
This will be the new blog for 2010. Please check back often or go to www.myspace.com/michaelkosterman to see what we've been up to.
Take care all, and have fun!
Michael

January flew by pretty fast for us here. Very busy month with getting ready for the Olympics and getting life back to normal after the holidays. We picked up our Olympic ID cards yesterday. Now it feels like we're getting close.
I'm not on the computer much these days, but I haven't forgotten those of you who are fans of the music and supporters of our cause. When I do get time, I browse through the comments and read them. Your kind words of encouragement mean a lot to Deidra and I.
We plan on taking a lot of pictures at the Olympics and we'll be posting the best ones here on the page. It's about time we had some new photos for you. Our first day is at General Motors Place on the 16th of Feb. We'll be there on the 17th as well, and then it's off to the Pacific Coliseum on the 18th and 19th where I will be singing for the crowds there. After that we go back to Cypress on the 23rd and then up to Whistler for the 26th and 27th. My daughter Katana will be joining Deidra and I on the trip, so I am really looking forward to it.
We wish you all well, and thank you for staying in touch. Take care everyone, and have fun!

The new year starts off with a bang and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver/Whistler BC Canada. This is our home town and Deidra and I are really happy to be a part of it. I'm doing some singing, but Deidra and I are both involved in other activities at the games, including some theatrics and puppetry.
The dates are all posted and include the 26th and 27th in Whistler at The Creekside for the Alpine Skiing event. We'll also be at The Pacific Coliseum to see some Figure Skating and Short Track Speed Skating, as well as at Cypress Bowl to enjoy the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding . Last but not least we will be at GM Place to witness some Olympic Ice Hockey. We are super excited and are really looking forward to this once-in-a-lifetime event! We'll be sure to have some pictures :)
Happy New Year Everyone!
